Description

Lost places: the area around the Rüdersdorf Museum Park has many of them. On this guided tour, you will explore the Strausberger Mühlenfließ and its foothills from the water. Passing old industrial ruins and monuments, you can gain an impression of life and work in the heyday of quicklime production in the 19th and 20th centuries. A water adventure for the whole family.

About Rüdersdorf

What has always made Rüdersdorf so special as a small town in Brandenburg is a freak of nature: In the middle of the sand-spoiled surrounding countryside of Berlin, a gentle hill of limestone stood out in the otherwise flat landscape around 800 years ago. The stone was quarried and used as building stone. Rüdersdorf was already producing quicklime in the 16th century - and cement from 1885. The Rüdersdorf Museum Park is the only historical lime and mine in the world to have been preserved in this variety. Nowhere else can you find such an ensemble of industrial history.
